Pappy Boyington was an American combat pilot who was a United States Marine Corps fighter ace during World War II. He received both the Medal of Honor and the Navy Cross. Quoted as saying, "Flying is hours and hours of boredom sprinkled with a few seconds of sheer terror. " Pappy Boyington is one of the original bad-ass pilots that got results and watched out for his men.
